Vilkenta
"Wine is not supposed to be drunk, it's supposed to be tasted. One glass a day - no more. Tasting wine means enjoying nature's gifts in pleasant communication", says winemaker Juozas Vilkenis, who lives in Kiduliai, Šakiai district.
The founder of "Vilkenta" company remembers that he started making wine himself around 1975, taking over the winemaking recipes from his grandfather. Now, continuing the family tradition, he produces not only white dandelion wine, but also six types of red berry wine, as well as rosé wine with mint.
Wine has been produced in the company since 2013, and in 2014 the products produced here were awarded the certificate of Lithuanian national heritage.
"Kidulių krašto" wines are made from the natural gifts of Kiduliai - dandelions, berries, honey and herbs. It has become a center of attraction, helping to attract more tourists to this corner of Lithuania. Visitors taste and buy the region's tradition, history, legend and smells - not just wine in the usual sense.
