Sun mead
Many years ago, while traveling around Germany, Roma Mačienė visited a beekeeper, who rushed to the market early in the morning to sell mead. She managed to see the room and equipment where his mead was fermented. After returning from her trip, Roma tried to make her own mead. She was successfull - it was amber in color, the husband and neighbors praised the drink! Later, they made it for family celebrations, events, meetings. Everyone kept encouraging them to produce mead for trade.
The experiments continued until 2002, when Roma and her husband Virginijus made the most delicious mead. They decided to name it with a poetic name - "Sun mead". They chose this name because they live near Šiauliai, which many call the city of the Sun, and the historical Battle of the Sun took place nearby. In 2003, the first label and packaging was chosen for their mead.
Many years ago, the beehives given to Roma by her mother, have become the basis for an innovative family business.
